How Are Veneers Applied?Completing the application process for veneers at Rask Family Dental usually requires two visits. During the first visit, we prepare the teeth to receive veneers by lightly buffing and shaping the surface(s) to compensate for the thickness of the veneer. We then take a mold, or impression of the teeth, after which you and your dentist choose a tooth shade (color).
On the second visit, we cleanse the teeth with special liquids in order to achieve a durable bond. We then place bonding cement between the tooth and veneer, and use a special light beam to harden and set the bond.
We will give you proper care instructions for your veneers. Daily brushing and flossing, plus regular dental visits, all aid in maintaining veneers and extending the life of your new, beautiful smile.
